I trust you are well and the September 2024 cycle is progressing in line with your plans and expectations. As we enter increasingly into the conversion part of the cycle, I am sharing a number of key updates from the University of Sussex that we hope will be of value to you:

1st in the world for Development Studies – The University of Sussex, in partnership with the Institute of Development Studies, has retained its ranking of first in the world for Development Studies for the eighth consecutive year. The ranking reflects the University’s international reputation for excellence as well as the strength of teaching and research relationships. Read the Vice Chancellor’s statement and more details.

PGT Deposit Increase – Following a recent review, the tuition fee deposit for students starting in September 2024 is now £5,000. Please ensure you and any applicants have read the terms and conditions.

Tuition Payment Plans – Students will also need to pay 50% of their remaining tuition fees as a condition of registration followed by a further instalment by 31 January.

CAS issuance for September 2024 starts this week.

Business School and School of Engineering and Informatics awards – University of Sussex Business School and Engineering & Informatics international Masters students will receive a £2000 School Award. Refer to these direct links for details of our Business School Awards and Engineering and Informatics School Awards and how to register for them.

Chancellor’s International Scholarship – Applications for the Chancellor’s International Scholarship are open! Any international applicants with exceptional grades and excellent academic potential can apply for this £5000 award. This is a highly competitive scholarship and applicants must apply by May 1st 2024.

Masters Week – Online Masters Week sessions will take place for any potential students to attend from June 10th to June 14th. Types of Masters courses available and what they involve, the application process, scholarships and funding, and careers support will all be covered.

Masters and PhD live webchats – A number of Masters and PhD live webchats and online sessions will be taking place. These will provide the opportunity to hear directly from postgraduate specialists and interact with staff in a live Q&A session. These include Global Studies Live Masterclasses, taking place as part of Development Studies Week.
