What’s new at the University of Reading?

NEW COURSES: LLB Law with Criminology or International Business
We are pleased to announce the launch of two new undergraduate courses, both accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board, providing the first qualification for entry into the legal profession:
LLB Law with Criminology
LLB Law with International Business

The option to include Criminology will allow students to look at questions around crime, justice and punishment. The International Business pathway draws on the expertise of academics in our triple-accredited Henley Business School.

We anticipate some places for September 2024 entry being available through Clearing when it opens on 5 July.

International Q&A Series: Wellbeing and Mental Health
Following the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 of Movement, this video covers many different aspects of student services, such as mental health support, our sports facilities and nature on campus!

NEW for 2024 COURSES: Politics and International Relations
As well as our popular MSc in Public Policy, our new master’s courses in Politics and International Relations give you the opportunity to develop your employability through a work placement module where you put your academic knowledge to practice with an external organisation related to international relations or international security
MA Conflict and International Security

If you are interested in a career related to national and international security and defence policies, our MA Conflict and International Security will give you with the knowledge, skills and experience to analyse contemporary issues of war, conflict and security in the context of contemporary politics within and between societies.
MA International Relations and Diplomacy

If a future in international relations, security, diplomacy and humanitarian aid excites you, then our new MA International Relations and Diplomacy is an excellent pathway.

You’ll examine diverse approaches to understand current problems faced by policymakers in government, international organisations and NGOs.

NEW COURSE: MSc Biotechnology

New for 2024 entry, MSc Biotechnology, this unique new course has been designed by our academics, together with leaders in the sector, to give you the best grounding in this fast-evolving industry.

You will:
Discover new and emerging trends in biotechnology
Develop entrepreneurial skills with Henley Business School
Experience working in the biotechnology sector with a three-month placement.*

A key part of our new MSc Biotechnology programme is the opportunity to either undertake a 3-month placement in the Biotechnology sector with one of our industry partners* or to gain hands-on experience of laboratory research with a three-month research project with one of our academics.

*The University of Reading has ringfenced industrial placements for students, however you will be required to pass an interview with the placement provider.
